A high-level UAE delegation headed by H.E. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, is visiting Italy and Malta starting tomorrow (Monday, February 7) until March 11, 2022. The delegation, which comprises representatives of federal and local government entities and private sector and investment companies, will meet separately with Italy and Malta’s respective ministers, senior government officials and private sector representatives.

The visits will see concerned parties discussing ways to  develop their countries’ economic, trade and investment relations while exploring more cooperation opportunities and expansion of  partnerships between their respective government and private sectors. They are also expected to set new frameworks of future cooperation and close new partnerships in all areas of common interests.

In addition, all parties will discuss the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge. The UAE delegation is looking forward as well to learning about the relevant experiences of Italy and Malta in future-proofing their respective sectors. This is in line with the Emirates’ efforts to develop a more flexible and sustainable economic model that can keep up with future trends. The meetings are also aligned with the objectives of the Principles of the 50 and UAE Centennial 2071.

During the meeting with their Italian counterparts, the UAE delegates will explore collaborations in digital transformation, modern technologies and advanced industries such as automotive, machinery, food production technology, circular economy, space economy, renewable energy and entrepreneurship. In Malta, the discussions will focus on fintech and digital entertainment.

Furthermore, the UAE delegation will take the opportunity to highlight the UAE Government’s Projects of the 50, which was launched to take the national economy to a new phase of growth and strengthen public-private partnerships for a flexible, proactive and leading economic framework. The delegation will also tackle new government policies implemented to attract more businesses, investments, and talents and entrepreneurs to the country.
