Integrated Administrative System Policy

On a Flexible and Sustainable Global Economy for Achieving Entrepreneurship and Prosperity

Within the framework of achieving the UAE’s vision and strategy, the Ministry of Economy seeks to develop a flexible system for a new future economy that enhances the business environment and motivates the attraction of investments and talents through the development of proactive policies, legislation and projects to raise the standard of living and prosperity of society.

Therefore, the Ministry was keen to develop the regulatory and legislative environment for the economic sector, enhance the business and governance environment, and provide high quality services that meet the requirements of customers and relevant parties and exceed their expectations. The Ministry was also keen to empower SMEs, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness in innovation and intellectual property rights, enhance the international commercial position in foreign markets, and the position of the State as a world-leading tourist destination, and provide efficient digital services that enhance innovation, research and development, strategic planning, and future foresight.

In order to achieve these directions, our Policy focused on the following:

  • Supporting and developing exports, developing UAE’s non-oil exports, concluding economic and trade agreements, and preparing studies and research on developing new future economic sectors, and enhancing the competitiveness of the companies;
  • Developing ambitious economic policies and plans according to the global and local economic developments, developing the necessary treatments, and resolving the difficulties that face establishments in the local and foreign markets;
  • Contributing to preparing the national strategy on developing the SMEs sector and entrepreneurship;
  • Fairly control trade, consumer protection, copyright and related rights, and patents;
  • Supervising and investigating specified non-financial businesses and professions on countering money laundering crimes, combating the financing of terrorism and illegal organizations, and assessing and classifying money laundering risks;
  • Continuously improving the processes and services of commercial registration, certificates of origin, combating harmful practices, auditors, cooperatives, strategic stock, and trademarks according to the best practices, strategic directions, legal requirements, and the requirements of relevant authorities;
  • Maintaining a competitive market according to the principle of economic freedom and avoiding everything that might distort the competition;
  • Formulating the State’s positions on the international negotiations in a manner that serves the interests of the national economy;
  • Using resources optimally, rationalizing consumption, protecting the environment, preventing pollution, reducing environmental impacts, risks, accidents, occupational diseases, and work injuries, protecting employees, customers, and visitors, providing a safe and healthy work environment, and benefiting from available opportunities through the participation by workers and stakeholders and consulting them;
  • Applying the government excellence standards in a manner that promotes the culture of excellence in the Ministry, supports the experience of customer, and measures the extent of their happiness according to the application of ISO 9001 quality management standard;
  • Complying with environment, occupational health and safety laws, other requirements, and requirements of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 international standards;
  • Ensuring business continuity in emergency circumstances and crises according to the requirements of ISO 22301 standard;
  • Managing risks to reduce their effects on the Ministry’s processes and activities according to the requirements of ISO 31001 standard;
  • Applying the governance practices and complying with laws and legislation according to ISO 37000 governance standard;
  • Managing the assets in order to ensure its sustainability according to the requirements of ISO 55001 standard.
