25 Mar 2022

Expo 2020 Dubai offers an ideal opportunity for connecting minds and enabling the convergence of cultures from different countries of the world, says minister

H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, visited the Kiribati Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, located in the Mobility District under the theme ‘Leaping forward, creating opportunities for prosperity.’

The minister highlighted that Expo 2020 Dubai offers an ideal opportunity for connecting minds and enabling the convergence of cultures from different countries of the world, to share experiences and experiments aimed at creating a more sustainable future that will improve the lives of people as well as its quality. He further underlined its importance in showcasing the UAE’s unique features, its diverse and supportive economic environment, and its attractive investment environment for pilot projects, in light of the targets of the 50 and the UAE Centennial 2071.

While at the pavilion, H.E. Al Zeyoudi reviewed Kiribati government’s efforts and innovative solutions aimed at addressing climate challenges as a result of global warming, especially rising sea levels, which is one of the challenges facing Kiribati as an island in the Pacific Ocean. He also examined the exhibits highlighting the country's rich marine life, culture, and diverse traditions.

The Kiribati Pavilion offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the 33 atolls of Kiribati that cover a vast area in the Pacific Ocean, their unique marine and natural life, and their attractive features through spectacular dynamic displays of the same.
