Zeyoudi praises growth of trade exchange between UAE & Azerbaijan during his visit to the country’s Expo pavilion

Non-oil trade between the two countries witnessed a record growth of 33% in 2021, totaling AED 2.4 billion

H.E. Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, praised the growth in trade exchanges between the UAE and the Republic of Azerbaijan during his visit to the Azerbaijani pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The Pavilion is located in the Sustainability district of the Expo under the theme "Seeds for the Future".

The non-oil trade exchange between the two countries reached AED 2.4 billion in 2021 from nearly AED 1.8 billion in 2020, posting a growth rate of more than 33%.

H.E. Al Zeyoudi underlined that Expo 2020 Dubai is an inspiring and impactful platform that showcases the UAE’s leading experience in different fields and highlights the country’s unique and technologically advanced business environment, in addition to the flexible legislations recently introduced by the UAE in accordance with the goals of the Projects of the 50 and UAE Centennial 2071. The aim is to build a strong and sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation and led by national competencies, following the country’s strategy to attract talented and capable individuals to vital economic sectors, while also consolidating its position as an attractive and sustainable tourism destination. Expo 2020 Dubai also proved to be a powerful medium for connecting minds and bridging gaps in order to build a brighter and more sustainable future and guarantee the wellbeing of people from all around the world.

H.E. Al Zeyoudi explored the Azerbaijan pavilion and learned about the country’s leading efforts in the field of sustainable development, as well as its strategy to invest in the future and the innovative technologies that serve this goal. H.E. admired the pavilion’s unique design, as well as the country’s cultural and artistic variety, historical evolution, social customs, and beautiful nature.

The Azerbaijan pavilion provides its visitors with an exciting experience that features visual displays that tell the story of the many historical eras that the country has witnessed. It also showcases Azerbaijan’s customs and diverse landscape through advanced technologies, most notably Virtual Reality.
