H.E. Alia Al Mazrouei explores collaboration opportunities and strategic partnerships in entrepreneurship, AI, and technology with leaders from Germany’s and Europe’s business communities

Discussions held during Her Excellency’s participation in meetings and dialogue sessions at GITEX Europe 2025

Her Excellency Alia bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, held a series of meetings with leaders and representatives from the German and European business and technology communities to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship. The engagements took place during H.E.’s visit to Germany, where she led the UAE delegation participating in GITEX Europe 2025, held in Berlin last week. The visit focused on identifying avenues for enhanced cooperation, particularly in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) policies and advanced technological applications within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Promising prospects for advancing UAE-German collaboration

Her Excellency Alia Al Mazrouei emphasized that the UAE has established an advanced entrepreneurial ecosystem through pioneering national initiatives and integrated strategies designed to enhance its global competitiveness. These include the development of supportive policies and legislation, robust infrastructure, streamlined business facilitation, targeted incentives, and the promotion of strategic partnerships.

H.E. also noted the promising prospects for enhancing UAE-Germany collaboration, particularly in supporting startups and enabling their expansion into new markets across key sectors of the new economy - including advanced technology, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and the green economy.

Ministerial session on AI's role in driving comprehensive economic growth

H.E. Alia Al Mazrouei participated in a ministerial panel session titled ‘Building Bridges of Innovation: Ministerial Dialogue on the Intersection of AI, Policies, and Global Economic Growth.’ It was also attended by several senior government officials from European countries, including H.E. Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate of the Republic of Albania; H.E. Jan Kavalírek, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic; and H.E. Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. The discussion centered on global trends in leveraging AI technologies to drive inclusive economic growth and support sustainable digital transformation.

During her intervention, Her Excellency highlighted the UAE’s experience in investing in AI technologies, noting that the country has adopted an integrated approach to harnessing AI in the development of its entrepreneurial ecosystem. This includes enhancing digital infrastructure, modernizing the national economic framework to incorporate AI applications, and offering specialized training programs to build national talent - all aimed at fostering inclusive growth and empowering SMEs and entrepreneurs to actively contribute to the future economy.

Her Excellency stated that the UAE’s approach balances accelerating digital transformation with promoting economic inclusion by equipping emerging companies with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and implementing supportive regulatory policies alongside flexible financing initiatives, thereby creating greater opportunities for SMEs to grow and innovate.

UAE - German roundtable

Her Excellency Alia Al Mazrouei participated in a roundtable with 12 SMEs from the UAE and Germany to explore opportunities for cooperation in key technical and technological fields. She emphasized the importance of expanding strategic partnerships between startups in both countries to drive innovation in future sectors and to broaden the market reach of Emirati projects in Europe.

H.E. underscored that the strength of the UAE’s entrepreneurial ecosystem lies in empowering companies. She highlighted that investing in partnerships with European stakeholders is a cornerstone of the UAE’s strategic expansion in the knowledge economy, aiming to increase entrepreneurs’ success rates from 30 per cent to 50 per cent within the next decade.

Furthermore, Her Excellency briefed German private sector representatives on the UAE’s key strategic enablers and exceptional opportunities in entrepreneurship and new economy sectors. She highlighted the country’s success in creating an attractive and competitive investment environment, underpinned by advanced digital infrastructure across multiple sectors, flexible legislation that keeps pace with rapid innovation, and economic incentives — including 100 per cent foreign ownership, tax incentives, and innovative financing solutions.

The UAE boasts a comprehensive ecosystem supporting startups, featuring specialized free zones, world-class business incubators and accelerators, and national initiatives such as ‘Riyada’ and ‘Future 100.’ These efforts empower entrepreneurs to transform ideas into sustainable ventures and bolster their role in the country’s inclusive economic development, aligned with the objectives of ‘We the UAE 2031.’

Visit to Merantix
