Ministry of Economy showcases latest digital services & platforms at GITEX Global 2022 as part of federal government pavilion
H.E. Al Saleh: GITEX is an ideal platform to introduce the government’s smart services to the public. The Ministry’s participation supports the national vision on digital transformation & economy of the future

In line with the directives of H. E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al MarriMinister of Economy, the Ministry of Economy will participate in GITEX Global 2022, the five-day event that will take place from 10-14 October at Dubai World Trade Center. As part of the federal government pavilion, the Ministry will showcase multiple digital platforms and initiatives at the exhibition, in addition to the digital services it offers to the public in the UAE and abroad.
- E. Abdullah Ahmad Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, said: “GITEX is one of the most prominent technology events that brings together thousands of participants and visitors from across the globe to showcase future technologies and latest applications and trends in the digital world. It offers an ideal platform for the federal and local government entities to present their latest smart services and highlight their efforts in the field of digital transformation and innovative technology to serve all segments of the public according to best practices. These efforts fall in line with the UAE wise leadership’s futuristic vision and support the national objectives for the next 50 years.”
H.E. Al Saleh added: “The Ministry is keen to enhance its participation in this technology event by exhibiting an integrated set of priority e-services and highlighting smart services that were launched recently. Also on display will be new pioneering initiatives aimed at providing excellent services to investors, entrepreneurs and business community, as well as the public and customers from UAE and abroad. This supports the UAE’s new economic model that is based on innovation, creativity and technology, keeping pace with technology advancements, fostering sustainable growth enablers across various business sectors and enhancing national economy’s future-readiness.”
New programs & initiatives under phase II of The Entrepreneurial Nation
The Ministry’s participation in this year’s edition of GITEX Global will witness the launch of phase II of The Entrepreneurial Nation - the national project that serves as a key platform to support and develop the entrepreneurship ecosystem including startups, and pioneering projects in the UAE. This project is characterized by the largest series of public-private partnerships of their kind. The current phase saw the launch of multiple programs and initiatives and new partnerships with governmental, private, and academic entities, companies, organizations, and prestigious business incubators regionally and globally, thus preparing the UAE’s entrepreneurship ecosystem for the next stage of development.
New metaverse platform for virtual communication between the public & Ministry employees
The Ministry’s pavilion will demonstrate its new metaverse platform, a hub for virtual knowledge that enables virtual communication between the public and the Ministry’s employees through the virtual assistant service. The new platform also has designated areas to interact with customers and obtain information about the Ministry’s services, and a virtual amphitheater to host virtual events, among other services designed for the new digitally enabled world. It supports the UAE’s vision to become a global hub for metaverse and future technologies.
New generation of digitized services for account auditors
This year, the Ministry’s pavilion at GITEX will also feature the new generation of digitized services offered to the individuals, companies and establishments practicing account-auditing profession. These services provide flexible and proactive AI-based options to promote customer happiness, enabling them to track the progress of their applications, get access to all customer-related data through a single display interface.
An integrated platform for tour guide license
Furthermore, the Ministry will highlight the Emirati tour guide license initiative to encourage UAE nationals to earn this license and benefit from the opportunities the tourism sector offers across the UAE. It is aimed at promoting the tour guide profession and supporting the national efforts to promote UAE’s tourism attractions and a wide spectrum of tourism services and products, capitalizing on creative and qualified national talents.
Raising awareness on benefits & incentives of the National SMEs program
The Ministry will also raise awareness on the services and enablers it offers to citizen entrepreneurs through the National SME program, which contributes to national SMEs’ growth and empowerment. The program’s main services include Hawafez, a platform that provides several incentives and facilities to Emirati entrepreneurs, and the Government Procurement Platform, which facilitates the participation of Emirati SMEs in government tenders.
