Ministry of Economy organizes Ramadan session to motivate women entrepreneurs in the country to establish diverse economic activities

 

 

H.E. Badreya Al Maidoor: The Ministry is keen to launch qualitative initiatives and programs to support women entrepreneurs in new economic sectors

 

 

The Ministry of Economy organized a Ramadan session titled ‘Empowering Women Entrepreneurs’ with an aim to strengthen relations between women entrepreneurs, encourage them to establish diverse economic businesses and activities and facilitate the exchange of experiences and entrepreneurial practices.

 

The session was opened by H.E. Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry of Economy, followed by a panel discussion featuring H.E. Noor Al Tamimi, Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Business Women's Council; Al Dhabi Al Muhairi, the youngest female entrepreneur; Dr Amal Larhlid, private pilot and Author and Partner at PwC; and Yulia Stark, President of EWA Accelerator.

 

In her opening speech, H.E. Badreya Al Maidoor said: "Over the past five decades, Emirati women have been able to embark on a distinguished journey of leadership and creativity, serving as key partners in the UAE’s sustainable economic development. They have succeeded in demonstrating their role as key contributors to building the future.”

 

Her Excellency added: "The Ministry of Economy remains keen to launch qualitative initiatives and programs to empower women entrepreneurs and women-led SMEs in various sectors and activities, especially in the new economy sectors, and provide opportunities and potential for the development of their businesses." She noted that the Ramadan session contributes an open space for discussion and consultation on the future of women's entrepreneurship, encouraging them to continue to innovate and excel. The session also reiterated support for promoting dialogue and networking among women entrepreneurs in the country.

In addition, the session reviewed financing mechanisms and opportunities for women-led startups, enhancing their access to incentives and facilities provided by the national economy to support their business growth and competitiveness at the regional and global levels.
