H.E. Bin Touq leads UAE delegation to Italy to enhance investment cooperation & build partnerships in new economy sectors

 

 

Visit to witness the launch of Investopia Europe in Milan

 

 

An official UAE delegation led by H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, is visiting Italy to explore the strengthening of investment cooperation between the two countries at the government and private sector levels and build new partnerships in new economy sectors.

The UAE delegation includes 50 members from the government and private sectors, including H.E. Adeeb Ahmed, Managing Director of Lulu Financial Group; H.E. Salah Sharaf, General Manager of Sharaf Group; Sanjeev Gupta, CEO of Liberty Steel; H.E. Ahmed Al Qaseer, Executive Director of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq); Hamad Obaid Al Shamsi, Investment Manager for Regional Promotion - Invest in Sharjah; H.E. Shadi Hassan, Managing Partner of LIFCO Group; Hani Barhoush, CEO of Non-Traditional Investments at Mubadala; Ajit Johnson, Head of Marketing and Strategic Business at Lulu Financial Group; Youssuf Ahmed Al Yousuf, CEO of Al Yousuf Group; Hassan Karimi, Co-Founder and Managing Director of KHK & Partners; and H.E. Jamal bin Saif Al Jarwan, Secretary General of the UAE International Investors Council.

The visit will see the launch of Investopia Europe in Milan, Italy, the first event launched by the global investment platform Investopia in 2023, following the annual conference that took place in March. The event aims to enhance dialogue and stimulate global investment flows in fast-growing sectors, especially the new economy ones such as circular economy, family businesses, and creative industries, in addition to highlighting future global investment trends. More than 250 leaders, businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, and economists from around the world will attend the Summit.

The Minister of Economy will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with a number of ministers and Italian government officials, major Italian companies and academia. The discussions will focus on the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries, explore more promising investment opportunities, and ensure that the Emirati and Italian private sectors benefit fully from them. H.E. Bin Touq will also visit the Bocconi University to learn about its successful experiences in the fields of economics, scientific research, technology, and AI.

The volume of non-oil trade between the UAE and Italy reached nearly AED 39.7 billion (USD 10.8 billion) in 2022.
