The Contribution of the Travel and Tourism Sector to the UAE’s GDP
In 2019, the contribution of the travel and tourism sector to the UAE’s GDP was nearly AED 180.4 billion which is equivalent to 11.6% of the total GDP. In 2019, the total spending of international tourists amounted to AED 143.1 billion. In 2020, the number of hotels in the UAE has increased to 1,089, while the hotel capacity in the country reached 180,000 hotel rooms.
