The Economic and Social Council of the Arab League is an institution of the Arab League that is concerned with economic and social affairs for joint Arab action. The council is responsible for the formulation of the general policy for the Arab economic cooperation and integration and the development of joint strategies in this area. The Ministry of Economy cooperates and coordinates with the entities concerned in the UAE to implement related duties.

  • Following up and implementing the decisions issued by the council and its technical committees.
  • Preparing economic reports and papers related to the council’s work.
  • Following up on the implementation of the provisions of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area.
  • Addressing or reducing the obstacles in the path of the pan-Arab trade.
  • The Ministry is a point of contact for the Arab member states to address any challenges facing the activation of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area.
