The Ministry of Economy was recognized as the ‘Leading Federal Entity’ at the sixth edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award that was held as part of the celebration ceremony organized by the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program. This is the most prestigious award for institutional performance of federal governmental entities in the UAE. The results were announced after the Ministry's dedication to adopting the GEM 2.0 criteria, which were thoroughly evaluated by the experts. The assessment procedure had witnessed the participation of working teams, specialized committees, and the leadership team of Their Excellencies the Ministers, undersecretary, and secretaries. The Ministry's efforts to adopt the institutional excellence standards, promote creative, adaptable, and proactive services, and carry out projects and initiatives were also examined by the evaluation team.

In recognition of the efforts of the Ministry of Economy and its governmental partners to achieve commercial and economic integration with their trade partners, Emirates Group for Global Economic Partnerships has won the sixth edition of Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award in the projects, initiatives, and institutions category. The team received the award for its endeavor to develop Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements with key trade partners. The Ministry's efforts in partnership with its partners have significantly contributed to the economic recovery from COVID-19. Such initiatives were a major contributor to encouraging the return of commerce and investment to the country both during and after the pandemic, which boosted economic growth.

The Ministry of Economy bagged the ‘Leading Federal Entity’ award for ministries with less than 500 employees, during the fourth session of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award. A special function was organised on this occasion to celebrate and honour the Ministry’s outstanding employees and teams, who were encouraged to unlock their potential and unleash their creative talent in an environment conducive to innovation and creativity. The event also emphasised the words spoken by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai: "Focussing on the customers and enabling them to achieve a distinctive service experience is a key focus of government development… successful government entities are motivating their employees to provide their best; services that satisfy people and make them happy."

The Ministry of Economy achieved the Sharjah Government Communication Award for best external government communication, which was accepted by HE Abdulla Bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy for Foreign Trade and Industry. HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi – Deputy Ruler of Sharjah – honoured the winners.

The Minister of Economy attained the award for Best Government Communication Strategy in 2014, in recognition of its efforts towards achieving excellence in government communications. HH Sultan Bin Muhammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, delivered the accolade to HE Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Under-Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy.
