Founded in 2003 as a non-profit organisation, the International Humanitarian City accommodates relief and charity agencies, companies involved in these activities, and several humanitarian groups, and serves as a platform for its members. It also plays a pivotal role in facilitating first response to global crises and disasters. Owing to its location in Jebel Ali, the free zone facilitates speedy transport of shipments to most parts of the world. Working under the aegis of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the hub has assisted several million needy people.
