Young Arab Leaders

Young Arab Leaders (YAL) aims to nurture the next generation of business leaders in the Arab world. With youth empowerment at its core, the group has several mentorship and educational initiatives, helping young entrepreneurs overcome challenges and take their capabilities to the next level. Founded in 2004, YAL seeks to leverage the capabilities and expertise of all its members to boost professional development of Arab youth. It also aims to bring together prominent Arab leaders towards a shared vision of creating more opportunities for youth. YAL collaborates with public and private sector partners in the region to organise high-profile networking events including roundtable discussions, business dinners and events, with the participation of industry experts. Their high impact debates offer young entrepreneurs opportunities to gain the latest insights and perspectives on trending topics that impact community.

Dubai Businesswomen Council

Established in 2002, Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) focuses on the personal and professional development of businesswomen and female entrepreneurs in the UAE. The platform is committed towards gender parity and encourages women to play an active role in developing the country and stimulating sustainable development. DBWC also works towards promoting tolerance and cultural understanding with education and networking opportunities that support the aspirations of both Emirati and expatriate women. The Council conducts tailored workshops and seminars for its members, and their #SheLeads accelerator programme run in partnership with Creative Zone, initiates different entrepreneurial and educational initiatives targeting women entrepreneurship. The programme encourages women to break barriers and enhance their knowledge and skills. DBWC also facilitates conferences and webinars by industry experts, and participates in conferences and workshops across the region.

UAE Banks Federation, Abu Dhabi

UAE Banks Federation (UBF) works towards further development of the banking industry and augmenting its contribution to the national economy. As a professional representative body, it enhances cooperation and coordination among members and provides them an exceptional and distinctive collective voice. Established in 1982, UBF facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experience, enhanced cooperation, and communication and interaction with stakeholders. It also helps member banks overcome market challenges by presenting innovative solutions, encouraging best practices, and strengthening legal frameworks. In addition, it plays a fundamental role in raising public awareness about the financial, economic and social contributions made by banks. UBF’s representational leadership also assists and enables banks in the UAE to build more competitive and sustainable businesses which support customers, society, and the economy.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India - Abu Dhabi Chapter

The Abu Dhabi Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has been a key player in the growth and development of the sector since inception in October 1984. Since its formation, the number of members has grown significantly and continues to increase every year. The Institute regularly holds seminars for members to meet the highest standards of professional excellence and help them stay updated with changes. It also serves as a medium for the sharing of professional knowledge and expertise among members, andwith students of accounting, auditing and allied subjects, with emphasis on UAE nationals and local institutions. The institute also facilitates employment opportunities for members by providing platforms to gain professional excellence and achieve global recognition.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Dubai

TiE Dubai was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of TECOM in 2003. Supported by various corporate sponsors on different platforms, TiE Dubai is led by its Charter Members who include successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior industry professionals. TiE members represent a diverse set of industries including technology software and hardware, healthcare, biotech, media, telecom, IT enabled services, consulting, finance and law. The network focuses on generating and nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs through mentoring, networking and education, funding, and incubation. A key programme, TiE Women, is a global initiative dedicated to helping women reach their full potential, with support to build their leadership and entrepreneurial skills. TiE Women is open to all businesses that are managed or owned by women in the Arab world and helps highlight their achievements.

MeetUp

Meetup is a service used to organise online groups that host in-person and virtual events for those with share similar interests. The platform can be used to find and build local communities, meet new people, learn new things, get support or pursue interests and passions. Meetup groups are run by approximately 140,000 organisers who set up groups, conduct events, and develop event content. Well-established groups in Dubai include The Expats Club - Dubai 35 Plus, Stay-at-Home Moms and those that support professional organisations such as Toastmasters. Since Meetup is an online platform, people can also look for groups or professionals to meet with, or connect remotely, from various parts of the world.
