Great Growth Prospects for

Foreign Investment in the UAE

Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) into the United Arab Emirates achieved a growth of 10% during the year 2022 compared to 2021 – reaching $22.7 billion. The cumulative balance of the FDI inflow increased, amounting to about $194.3 billion. The UAE has signed with its trading partners approximately 112 agreements to protect and encourage investments.

An increase in Foreign Direct Investment inflows to the UAE

According to the UNCTAD World Investment Report 2023, the value of foreign direct investment inflows at a growth rate of 10%. The total inflows of foreign investment in 2022 amounted to $22.7 billion (AED 83 billion), compared to $20.7 billion (AED 76 billion) in 2021.

UAE ranked first in FDI inflows in West Asian Countries

The UAE ranked 1st in the West Asia region in terms of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), accounting for 47.1% percent of the total FDI inflow to the region, which amounted to $48.3 billion.

The UAE ranked 1st in the MENA  region in terms of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), accounting for 32.4% percent of the total FDI inflow to the region, which amounted to $53.6 billion.

The UAE ranked first in FDI flows 2022

The UAE managed to achieve top ranks in foreign direct investment inflows and outflows in West Asia, and Middle East and North Africa region. It ranked 19th globally in terms of FDI inflows and 17th globally in terms of FDI outflows in 2021.
