Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD)
Promoting a culture of leadership
Established in 2005, Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD) provides financial and technical support to entrepreneurs and small businesses in the emirate, creating a business-focussed environment for effective development of projects. It aims to prune the creative business potential of the UAE youth and help them contribute towards enhancing the comprehensive and sustainable economic development of Sharjah. Ruwad continues to receive utmost assistance from the government in order to fulfill its mission of boosting SME growth in Sharjah.

Programmes and Benefits
Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD)
Funding Programmes
These programmes enable entrepreneurs to develop SMEs, meet the needs of customers, and continue the project to achieve success. The funds are allotted either through direct financing programme – an allowance of up to AED 400,000 – or indirect financing – in which a maximum value of AED 2 million is given.

Members enjoy competitive package of services, benefits and facilities, in addition to the latest data and developments in the labour market. They can also participate in various events such as exhibitions and conferences. In addition, member are exempted from fees in several government agencies.

Benefits include the provision of AED 10,000 to the company, legal counselling and marketing guidance, provision of required facilities to conduct meetings and activities, and participation in local and international exhibitions. Members are also exempted from paying license fees

Through these services, Ruwad provides a set of consulting and advisory services to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs such as consultation on developing project ideas, marketing, feasibility study, financial and administrative aspects.

Ruwad’s annual training plan helps entrepreneurs establish, manage and develop their projects, by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge in every stage of their business, from the initial phase until their expansion in the future.
